Drugs and Cash Found in New Bedford Man’s Apartment

NEW BEDFORD - A New Bedford man is arrested after police find drugs and a large amount of cash in his apartment.

Members of the New Bedford Police Gang Unit executed a search warrant after 9 p.m. Tuesday at 11 Margin Street, Apt. 2. Inside the apartment, police found nearly a pound of marijuana, 22.1 grams of an unspecified hallucinogenic substance, packaging materials, scale, and $7,550 in cash.

Police arrested the occupant of the apartment, Jose Rebelo, 27.

Rebelo is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a Class E substance.
