Two New Bedford were arrested and drugs and weapons were seized from a storage unit in the Wamsutta Mills.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says the search warrant was executed at approximately 5:30 p.m.Friday by the Organized Crime Intelligence Bureau.

Vicente says the search followed an investigation into a heroin delivery service allegedly being operated out of 75 Wamsutta Street storage unit #20.

As a result of the search officers were able to seize over 13 ounces of heroin with a street value of over $36,000 and 24 growing marijuana plants.

A .38 caliber Charter Arms revolver was also seized along with 22 .38 caliber rounds of ammunition and 25 .22 caliber rounds of ammunition.

Officers also seized a digital scale, packaging material, and over $8,600 in cash.

The two suspects, identified as 31-year-old Kevin Cardoso and 27-year-old Christopher Medeiros, were arraigned Monday morning in New Bedford District Court on drug trafficking and Firearms charges.
