Dr. Fletcher Honored For His Service On School Committee

Dr. John Fletcher attended his last New Bedford School Committee meeting this week.

Fletcher served on the school board for eight years before deciding to run for City Council.  He was defeated in the Ward Five primary in October.

Fletcher tells WBSM Nnews, he always attempted to put the children of New Bedford first....

Mayor Jon Mitchell presented Fletcher with a plaque for his years of service on the school board.

Fletcher says he enjoyed his time on the committee, and the people he served with on the board.  He also had kind words for the central office staff and teachers, and wished Supt. Pia Durkin the best of luck.
