
Downtown Crash Kills Two in Fall River
Two people are dead following a one-car crash Tuesday afternoon in downtown Fall River. Two other passengers were transported to Rhode Island Hospital.
The Herald News reports the crash happened just before 12:30 pm. Police say the vehicle was traveling south on Second Street when it struck a curb and veered out of control, crashing into a consignment clothing store at 427 Second Street.
According to a spokesperson for the District Attorney, the operator, a 74-year-old Fall River woman, and a 29-year-old front-seat passenger, also from Fall River, were killed. Names of the victims were not released.
Two passengers in the back seat, a 23-year old Fall River woman and an 18-month old boy were taken to Rhode Island Hospital. Their conditions are not known.
An investigation is ongoing.
