DNB Burgers in New Bedford was closed for lunch on Tuesday after their store at 22 Elm St. was broken into and ransacked.

Detective Captain Steve Vicente says the suspects gained access through a glass door sometime overnight and a small amount of cash was taken.

Vicente says there was some ransacking and that several cash registers may have been broken into.

The restaurant posted a notice on their Facebook page saying the break-in was the second in 13 days and took place the night before they intended to install their new security system.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact New Bedford Police.

Although they were closed for lunch the restaurant's owners say they hope to reopen at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
