Developers Learn What New Bedford Has To Offer

More than 50 potential developers toured New Bedford on Thursday, getting a look at vacant property and buildings as possible sites for future economic development.....

Economic Development Council Director Derek Santos and his staff led bus tours throughout the city, visting sites in the North End, South End, Downtown and along the Waterfront.

Santos says another goal was to get the developers to come back for a more detailed visit the next time.

The E-D-C invited about 100 developers to the event, but the rain apparently caused some to stay home. Santos says his staff will be on the phone Friday hoping to get those folks to reschedule their visit.
