New Bedford Police are investigating after a delivery man was robbed Thursday night.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says the 29-year-old man stopped in the area of Holly St. and North Front St. around 9:45 p.m. to make a Chinese food delivery when he was approached by a man with a  black handgun.

Vicente says the man told the driver that he was being robbed then fled on foot, the driver wasn't harmed.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male with a blue hooded sweatshirt and the victim said he appeared to have a tattoo on his forehead resembling a cross.
