Philippine officials fear the death toll following Super Typhoon Hayan could rise to 10,000 in just one city.

The once-thriving port city of Tacloban, formerly home of over 200,000 people is now reduced to rubble. Officials say so far, 942 people are confirmed dead in the Visayas region, which includes Tabloban.

President Obama said the U.S. stands "ready to further assist the government's relief and recovery efforts."
