Davis’ Retirement Surprises Business Leaders

The nearly unspoken news at the annual meeting of the Greater New Bedford Industrial Foundation was the retirement of the Business Park's Executive Director, Tom Davis.

Davis again declined to comment on the informal announcement at Wednesday night's meeting, only saying a firm date for his retirement has not been set.

Craig Dutra, President of the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts tells WBSM News he was taken aback by the news, but praised Davis' tenure.

Other business leaders pointed out that there are only a handful of small vacant parcels of land available for lease in the park, emphasizing the growth they say Tom Davis inspired.

Davis has been Executive Director of the park since 1998.
