DARTMOUTH — Dartmouth Police say a fragment of a suspected human skull was found on a Dartmouth beach.

Police say that on Sunday, January 3, officers responded to Little Beach on Horseneck Road, after a passerby discovered “what appeared to be a sizeable fragment of an aged human skull in the sand.”

Police say that as of this time, they suspect the skull segment washed ashore from the water.

The fragment was subsequently collected by Dartmouth Police and is being transferred to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for further analysis.

We will update this story with more information when it becomes available.
