Dartmouth Police Release Names of Crash Victims

Dartmouth Police released the names of the two people involved in an accident in front of Dartmouth High School Tuesday night.

Lt. Gregg Rutch says that at around 7:30 p.m. officers responded to Russells Mills Rd. for a single car crash involving a 1996 Toyota Camry driven by 27-year-old April Pimental of New Bedford.

Upon investigation it was determined that Pimental's car left the roadway and struck 78-year-old Hortense Medeiros.

Pimental was taken by ambulance to St. Lukes Hospital.

Medeiros was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.

The incident is currently under investigation by Officer Jason Arruda and the Dartmouth Police Department Crash Reconstruction and Detective Units.
