Dartmouth Police Arrest New Bedford Man for Animal Cruelty
DARTMOUTH — On Friday at approximately 6:50 pm, Dartmouth Police received a report of a man beating a dog with a baseball bat inside of a vehicle located near Colonial Way.
Upon locating the vehicle and conducting an investigation regarding the reported animal abuse, Dartmouth Police determined that 50-year-old New Bedford resident Gregory Ostiguy, who lives on Rockdale Avenue, did indeed strike his dog with a baseball bat.
Ostiguy was subsequently arrested and charged with cruelty to animals.
Ostiguy's dog was transported to a local vet, where it was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
