Dartmouth Police Arrest Fall River Man In Child Assault Case

Dartmouth Police have arrested a Fall River man for assaulting a four year old child he was babysitting.

According to Public Information Officer Det. Kyle Costa, officers were called to an apartment Wednesday on Ledgewood Boulevard  on a report of a disturbance.

Following an investigation, they arrested 28 year old Richard Pinheiro of Fall River. He was charged with Assault and Batter with Injury On a Child Under the age of 14.

The child was treated and released from St. Luke's Hospital.

Police say Pinheiro is being held without bail at the Bristol County House of Correction in Dartmouth.
