Criminal Investigation Opens Involving New Bedford Business Owner and City of Fall River
A criminal investigation is underway involving the City of Fall River and a New Bedford business.
According to the Herald News, 22 windows were installed last summer on the sixth floor of One Government Center in Fall River, and no one seems to know who authorized the work.
The installation was contracted by Moses Rapoza of Global Glass in New Bedford. There are no records of Rapoza ever billing the city for the job.
Rapoza is now under investigation by the Fall River Police Department for allegedly signing over a bad check for $50,000 to a subcontractor.
City Administrator Cathy Ann Viveiros told the Herald News, "There are no bid documents, no contracts. The question is who authorized the work."
