
Criminal Charges Filed Against New Bedford Teen In Disturbing Video
New Bedford Police have filed charges against a man believed to be the subject of a viral video.
The mayor's office confirms Kemar Omar Roselus, 18 years of age of New Bedford, has been charged with assault by means of dangerous weapon on a person over 60, and disturbing the school, and malicious destruction of personal property.
He will be summonsed into court at a later date.
Roselus is believed to be the main focus of a video taken on March 24th in a New Bedford High School classroom. The video shows a student arguing with a teacher over a confiscated cell phone. The student is driven to frustration, and grabs a nearby chair, throwing it into the desk of the teacher.
No further information is available at this time. The School Department’s investigation is ongoing.
