Crime Sweep Leads to Cocaine Arrest in New Bedford’s South End
NEW BEDFORD - Police targeting street level crime in New Bedford Saturday arrest a city man on drug charges.
The New Bedford Police Gang Unit was operating in the South End in the area of Delano and County Streets when they arrested 25-year-old Kevin Rodrigues of 170 Query Street as the result of an investigation. Police found 16.4 grams of cocaine and $1,286 in cash in Rodrigues' possession.
Rodrigues is charged with possession with intent to distribute Class B (cocaine). He's scheduled to be arraigned Monday in New Bedford Third District Court.
Rodrigues had been arrested in 2015 after police observed him texting while driving. That motor vehicle stop led to the discovery of a gun in Rodrigues' possession.
