Six adults and four children are displaced in a New Bedford house fire, according to the Massachusetts Red Cross.

Crews responded to a working fire shortly after 6 a.m. at a two-and-a-half story home at 152 Grinell St. with all companies working, Southern Mass Alerts reported on Twitter. The Providence Canteen was operating on the scene. The building was evacuated. By 7 a.m., fire had reportedly broken through the roof and multiple lines were stretched.

Photos taken at the scene, near Grinnell and Crapo streets, showed thick smoke coming from the structure. Washington Street was closed to traffic.
