The state is looking into the possibility of updating it's judicial infrastructure.

Members of the Massachusetts Trial Court and local legislators toured New Bedford's four court buildings, observing safety hazards and security concerns for workers and visitors alike. Trial Court Administrator Harry Spence tells WBSM News things are especially bad at the District Court.

Spence says a private firm will assess courts throughout the state, and make recommendations as to where the greatest restructuring needs are.

Legislators are hoping enough funds are available to construct justice centers, eliminating the need for separate court buildings.
