NEW BEDFORD - Two people face numerous drug charges after New Bedford Police carry out a search warrant on Monday night.

New Bedford Police say members of the department's Narcotics Division carried out a search warrant at 161 Fillmore Street at 6:26 p.m. on Monday. In the home, police discovered 2.6 grams of fentanyl, a small amount of heroin, assorted pills, packaging materials, and $1,864 in cash.

Police arrested two people inside the home; Roberto Lugo-Gallardo, 37, of 59 Hill Street, Apt. 2, New Bedford, and Cassandra Loonie, 32, of 161 Fillmore Street, New Bedford.

Lugo-Gallardo is charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug (fentanyl), and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Loonie faces charges of possession of a Class C drug (Clonazepam), possession of a Class E drug (Alprazolam), and possession of a Class A drug (heroin).
