Convicted New Bedford Drug Dealer Arrested Again
NEW BEDFORD — A convicted New Bedford drug dealer is arrested again.
On Tuesday, June 18, narcotics detectives from the New Bedford Police Department concluded an investigation into a fentanyl distribution service operated from 155 Hillman Street in New Bedford.
Travis J. Mendes, 37, of 155 Hillman Street, New Bedford was arrested and charged with trafficking fentanyl more than 10 grams and possession of a Class A substance with intent to distribute, which was a subsequent offense. Mendes had been previously convicted of dealing heroin and sentenced in 2015.
A search warrant was executed at Mendes’s Hillman Street apartment and over 70 grams of fentanyl, plus $327 in U.S. currency were discovered. Mendes was arraigned in Third District Court. The lead investigator was Detective Kevin Barbosa.
