The 26th annual Coats for Kids drive is this weekend.

The community coat drive looks to provide warm apparel to local children and adults in preparation for another cold New England winter.

Organizer Pam Pollock of the YWCA says people can donate a variety of items. "We're looking for grownup coats. We're looking for children's coats. And, of course, gloves, hats, scarves. Any type of winter/outdoor clothing. And this year we're also collecting blankets," says Pollock.

Volunteers, including members of the Mayor's Youth Council, will be collecting gently-used items Saturday morning from 9-11am at the Unitarian Church at 71 Eigth Street. The items will be distributed to anyone in need from 11am to 3pm.
