City Man Charged With Breaks Into Waterfront Restaurant

New Bedford Police have charged a city man with three counts of breaking and entering.

Det. Captain Steve Vicente says 27 year old Barrett Stone is a former employee of the Black Whale restaurant on Co-Op Wharf.

Police say Stone entered the restaurant three times during non-business hours during the past week, and each time thefts were reported.

On the 28th, police were called to the business and chased the suspect through the parking lot before he was taken into custody. In his possession was a ten pound container of scallops that was returned to the restaurant.
