Soon-to-Be Former CNN Host Chris Wallace Is Coming to Boston

Television journalist Chris Wallace is "between jobs."

The 77-year-old Wallace announced on Monday that he had decided not to renew his contract with CNN, and he will "explore new platforms like streaming or podcasting."

The CNN website says the network's chief executive, Mark Thompson, confirmed Wallace's departure.

"Chris Wallace is one of the most respected political journalists in the news business with a unique track record across radio, print, broadcast television, cable television, and streaming," he said.

"We want to thank him for the dedication and wisdom he's brought to all his work at CNN and to wish him the very best for the future," Thompson said.

Christopher Wallace was born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 12, 1947. The son of CBS's 60 Minutes legend Mike Wallace, Chris is a Harvard graduate who has worked at NBC News, ABC News, Fox News and elsewhere.

Breitbart's John Nolte questioned whether Wallace's departure was his idea or CNN's.

"So, after three years, the 77-year-old's reported seven-figure contract came to an end, and rather than renew, he decided to join all the other young folks online with a neato podcast," Nolte wrote.

Massachusetts fans of the now-unemployed Chris Wallace may get another chance to see their hero, as Wallace is coming to Boston in March.

He won't present the news on local Boston television, but Wallace will appear at Symphony Hall as part of the Boston Speakers Series. Wallace will speak on Tuesday, March 11 and Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

If you'd like to listen to Wallace, you must have tickets for the entire Speakers Series.

"Series sold by subscription only. Tickets for individual lectures are not for sale," Symphony Hall stated.

It appears the event may be sold out.
