Charges Pending in Two Motorcycle Crashes in Dartmouth

Dartmouth Police, investigating a motorcycle crash at Dartmouth Street and Cove Road Wednesday morning, learned the same bike was involved in an earlier crash on Smith Neck Road.

Public Information Officer Det. Kyle Costa says in the Smith Neck Road crash, which happened just after 7 a.m., the male operator and a passenger got back on the bike and departed the scene.

A short time later, police received a call about the second crash at Dartmouth Street and Cove Road and after investigating determined the motorcycle, a 2020 Suzuki, was the same bike that fled the scene in the first crash.

A 17-year-old male operator was transported to St. Luke's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A female passenger, also 17, was evaluated by EMS personnel as a precaution. 

Costa said the incidents remain under investigation and charges are pending.
