Boston Celtics' guard Isaiah Thomas was rewarded for his stellar first half today, as he was named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team as a reserve.

The All-Star nod is Thomas' first such honor in his four year NBA career.

Averaging 21.6 points, 6.6 assists and 3 rebounds per game, this season, the 26-year-old is leading all Eastern Conference point guards in scoring.

While he started the season as the C's top contributor off the bench, Thomas has spent most of the year in the starting line up after a couple of injuries thrust him into action.

The larger role has led to even more success for the former Sacramento King and Phoenix Sun, as he is averaging career best numbers in both points and assists this year.

The NBA All-Star game is scheduled for Sunday, February 14 at 8:30 pm.  This year's game will be played in Toronto.
