Cape Cod Woman Charged With Assaulting New Bedford Police

NEW BEDFORD — A Cape Cod woman faces charges of assaulting police in New Bedford.

Thursday afternoon just before 2:30 p.m., New Bedford Police narcotics detectives were conducting an investigation at 203 Weld Street, Apartment 3. Police say that during the investigation, 25-year-old Carla E. Gonsalves of Teaticket got involved and struck detectives with her hands.

No injuries were reported.

Gonsalves faces two counts of assault and battery on a police officer.
