Buttonwood Park Zoo Officials Dispute Report On Elephants

An animal protection group has criticized the Buttonwood Park Zoo for its treatment of their elephants. In Defense of Animals ranked the zoo fourth in their annual list of the "Ten Worst Zoos For Elephants." Dr. Toni Frohoff says Emily and Ruth belong in a sanctuary....

Zoo Director Keith Lovett disputes the group's findings saying the group has never seen firsthand the care and concern staff have for the elephants.

Lovett also says the group's goal is to end the presence of elephants in zoos and will use propaganda to achieve that goal.
