FALL RIVER — One of the victims in last night’s shooting in Fall River has died, according to a release from the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

Fall River Police, Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to District Attorney's office and Homicide Unit prosecutors are actively investigating a homicide, which occurred in the city of Fall River last night.

At around 10:15 Friday night, police responded to JC's Cafe, which is located at 1050 Bedford Street, for a report of a shooting with multiple victims. When police arrived, they located a seriously wounded 39-year-old Oak Bluffs man and rushed him to Charlton Memorial Hospital. The victim was later transferred to Rhode Island Hospital, where he died this morning.

Two other apparent gunshot victims, a 37-year-old Fall River man and a 23-year-old Bridgewater man, were also transported to area hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Both are currently in stable condition.

The investigation into the shooting homicide is extremely active and no further information can be released at this time.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld by the Bristol County District Attorney’s office, pending notification of next of kin.
