President Obama's executive order on gun control has left many communities wondering what effect it will have on them.

Bristol County District Attorney Tom Quinn hopes to see less gun-running into the area through the use of more uniform regulations on gun dealers nationwide. Quinn says many of the illegal guns in Bristol County are bought using straw purchasers. "So I might not qualify to buy a gun but I send up a strawman or woman to buy a gun in New Hampshire or Maine and bring it back to New Bedford. We've seen that. That's something that we'd like to try to, maybe from a federal level, address," said Quinn.

Quinn says while more stringent background checks for gun buyers will bog down the process, he hopes it will keep guns out of the hands of the wrong people, including the mentally ill.
