Bristol Community College Gets High Ranking for Nursing Program
The registered nursing program at Bristol Community College has been ranked as among the best in the state.
BCC ranked fifth out of 40 programs in the "2020 Best RN Programs in Massachusetts" list compiled by the publication Registered Nursing.
"Bristol Community College in Fall River, Massachusetts is home to a well-regarded associate degree in nursing program. Experienced faculty help students assume leadership roles in a professional setting in order to guide their nursing practice," the publication said.
Bristol was bested by Massachusetts Bay Community College, Simmons University, Boston College and Fitchburg State, but prevailed over UMass Medical School, Elms College, and many others.
The methodology looked at professional licensure exam pass rates and other factors. The National Council of State Boards of Nursing administers the professional exam.
Bristol Community College provides education and workforce development in the region, with locations in Attleboro, Fall River, New Bedford, and Taunton. The college offers degree, certificate, and training programs that can lead to an associate degree, a career-ready certificate, or the ability to transfer to a four-year college.
The college is one of the largest employers in the region.
