Boston’s New ‘Mind-Bending’ Museum of Illusions Opening Soon
As a parent of grown children, I understand the need to find new things to do with the kids to keep them busy. It was constantly a challenge for my wife and myself to come up with ideas, especially during the winter months when the cold weather limited our options, and in some cases, finances did as well.
I recently wrote an article about Boston's Museum of Fine Arts and some exhibits, such as mummies and coffins that might distract the kids from their phones and computer screens for a few hours.
Museums can be fun and educational. We spent many Saturdays and school vacation days at Boston's Museum of Science. The planetarium and IMAX theater were always a hit. They still are.
A new museum opening in Boston this fall sounds like it could be just as much fun for the entire family. The Museum of Illusions Boston premieres at 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024.
MassLive called it "an experimental museum" with "80 'mind-bending' exhibits." Sounds interesting, doesn't it?
The venue's website says you can "discover a brilliant collection of perspective-changing rooms, intriguing installations, and surprising images," at the Museum of Illusions.
The Museum says, "Our exhibits will teach you that nothing is quite as it seems, especially at the Museum of Illusions." The Museum promises you will be "mesmerized."
A press release touts the new museum as the "largest and fasting-growing chain of privately held museums in the world." The Museum of Illusions has "over 40 locations across 25 countries." Until now, the nearest Museum of Illusions location was in New York City.
The Museum of Illusions is at 200 State Street in Boston, in the Marketplace Center near Faneuil Hall Marketplace.
