The U.S. Department of Justice has reportedly drafted a list of 35 sanctuary states, counties and cities it intends to target with legal action for refusing to cooperate with federal immigration policies. Boston is believed to be on the list.

Boston Has Been on the Immigration Radar

Massachusetts has already had to contend with Trump Border Czar Tom Homan, who in February promised to "bring hell" to Boston and kept that promise with more than 1,800 arrests, mainly in the Boston area between March and May, including Operation Patriot, which netted 1,500 criminal offenders in one month.

Tensions Rise Between Mayor Wu and Federal Officials

Homan and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu have had a contentious relationship since Wu's testimony before a congressional committee about her city's sanctuary policies.

Former Bristol County Sheriff Tom Hodgson blames Gov. Maura Healey for the Massachusetts migrant crisis, which has cost the Commonwealth billions of dollars to date.

Fox News reported, "The Department of Justice identified nearly three dozen cities and states across the country on Tuesday that it said were sanctuaries for illegal immigrants and warned that it planned to take legal action against more of those jurisdictions."

AG Pam Bondi said in a statement that sanctuary cities and states have policies that "impede law enforcement and put American citizens at risk by design."

Controversial Migrant Case Adds Fuel to Federal Push

Breitbart reported recently that ICE is seeking custody of a 29-year-old illegal immigrant from El Salvador, "accused of sex crimes against children in the sanctuary state of Massachusetts, including the rape of a child."

Manuel Umana Solorzano was apprehended by police in Milford, Massachusetts, this week.

"Solorzano illegally crossed the U.S.-Mexico border at an unknown time and unknown location, making him one of millions of illegal alien got-aways who go undetected by Border Patrol Agents each year," according to Breitbart.
