Bomb Threat Suspect Continued to Be Held Without Bail
NEW BEDFORD — Heather Perkins, the 37-year-old New Bedford woman arrested last week after making several bomb threats and threats of murder toward police and media members, was back in court Tuesday morning.
Perkins was arrested last Thursday night in Dorchester and was arraigned Friday morning, and ordered held without bail. She was back in court this morning for further bail arguments.
Gregg Miliote, spokesman for Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, says Perkins continues to be held without bail and is due back in court on August 18.
Perkins allegedly send bomb threats to numerous police deparments and universities, including Dartmouth Police, UMass Dartmouth and a threat toward New Bedford City Hall that led to a brief evacuation July 18. She also is believed to be behind threats of murder sent to WBSM.
