Berwick To Speak At Whaling Museum Screening

Former gubernatorial candidate and former Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services, Dr. Donald Berwick, will be speaking Tuesday night at the Whaling Museum.

The museum will be hosting a free screening of "Escape Fire: The Fight To Rescue American Healthcare", a film that looks at the state of the U.S. health care system.

Event organizer Dr. Michael Rocha told WBSM's Phil Paleologos that Dr. Berwick has affinity for New Bedford and was very happy to take part in the event.

"When he ran for governor a couple of years ago and he came down to New Bedford and did some campaigning he really was touched by our community," says Rocha "he said that to me several times....so he really has a soft spot for New Bedford."

The screening will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Jacobs Gallery and Museum Theater.
