Arthur Creator Marc Brown Lists Martha’s Vineyard Retreat for Sale
Marc Brown, the creator of one of the beloved aardvark cartoon characters of a generation, Arthur Read, has placed his Martha's Vineyard home up for sale.
Brown and his wife Laurie Krasny Brown have had a home in Vineyard Haven for over 35 years. Both being endlessly creative, they have made Pilot Hill Farm a truly unique place.
Pilot Hill Farm was founded in the 1700s and has evolved to the oasis it is today, perfect for creating and relaxation.
While I originally set out to write this article about this amazing place, I couldn't help but scour the internet for the amazing cartoon that played such an important role in my youth.
For those that may need a reminder, here is a gem:
Arthur's Nose is a book that was created and published back in 1976, when Brown, a father, was inspired by the bedtime stories he read to his own son. The character shared many lessons over two dozen books in the Arthur series.
It wasn't until the year 1996 that Brown's books were adapted to an animated television series that influenced so many of us.
Since the Arthur cartoons aired on PBS, the Public Broadcasting Service, anyone could enjoy. There is a reason this cartoon was renewed for 25 seasons.

This character that Marc created was wholesome and safe, educating millions of children on how to be a little kinder, braver and more understanding.
As you can imagine, there is lots of interest to purchase this home and you can consider me protective but I certainly hope that whoever buys this home understands the inherent importance of estate.
According to the listing, this home is selling for just under $7,000,000.
