Arson Suspected in New Bedford Fire

NEW BEDFORD — Police are investigating fire damage at the former Aerovox plant on Belleville Ave.

Arson is suspected after officers observed fire damage to the piping, electrical panel and to the exterior of the office portion of the building.

The call to police was made early Monday. Offenses include arson, trespassing, and malicious damage of property.

Police believe the fire and vandalism happened over the weekend.
