Two Men Arrested in Fall River Double Shooting
Fall River police arrested two men following a double shooting that left two women seriously injured on Tuesday night.
Joshua Burgos, 21, and Elvis Burgos, 40, who both live at 372 Mulberry St., are each charged with armed assault with intent to murder and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, according to a press release from police spokesman Captain Daniel Dube.
According to police, On July 7 at approximately 9:30 p.m. patrol units responded to the Bradford Avenue side of Kennedy Park for reports of a female with a gunshot wound to the head. Officers say they located a vehicle containing two females. The operator had a gunshot wound to the left side of her head and the passenger had gunshot wounds to both legs. The operator was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and the passenger was transported to St. Anne Hospital. Both females were listed in stable condition.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Division responded to the scene. Their investigation revealed the shooting took place in front of 372 Mulberry Street. Police located two suspects at the scene who were subsequently placed under arrest.
Additionally, 14 shell casings were located in front of the Mulberry Street location, police said. Major Crimes Detectives are continuing the investigation.
