Residents of Fairhaven and surrounding communities are remembering the victims and survivors of the shooting rampage last month at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.  A group of Fairhaven residents sponsored a walk at Cushman Park on Saturday, and collected donations for the people of Newtown.  Organizer Jennifer Bishop is a parent of elementary school-age children.....

Betty Faria of New Bedford attended the walk with her husband and five grandchildren.  She  admits she was still upset days after the massacre....

Walkers were also asked to write messages of hope on white bags.  Organizers say all of the donations and rememberances will be sent to government officials in Newtown, to help residents there recover from the tragedy.
