The town of Dartmouth has several "Sister City" agreements in place with communities in England and the Azores.

The Dartmouth Selectboard signed another one Monday night with the Azorean city of Nordeste.

Selectboard Chairman Mike Watson tells WBSM News, the sister city agreements are a plus for Dartmouth...

Nordeste Mayor Carlos Mendonca exchanged gifts of flags and books with Watson. The town also recognized officials from other communities who were in town this weekend to take part in the Dartmouth 350 festivities.

Also, a reminder of the Dartmouth 350 celebration is now hanging in the Selectboard's meeting room. A "Dartmouth 350" quilt was given to the town by three ladies who created the keepsake. Mary Louise Pontes, Helena Arruda, and Pamela Joyce worked many hours over the past year to make the quilt.

It includes-knit pictures of several Dartmouth landmarks. The materials were purchased with a $1,000 grant from the Mass. Cultural Council.
