Americans Rely Heavily on Canned Foods
Do you eat a lot of canned foods? The majority of Americans do.
98% of the people responding to a new "Cans Get You Cooking" poll say they have canned foods in their kitchen or pantry, with the average household currently stocked with two-dozen canned products.
Corn tops the list and can be found in 79% of the homes in the U.S. Nearly three-quarters also have at least one can of beans on the shelf and 71% used canned broths, stocks, and condensed soups. Two-thirds stock up on canned fruit and 54% have canned meats and seafoods at home.
Most people use an average of five canned products a week.
