Acushnet's new public library officially opens to the public on Monday.  Town officials took part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Sunday, celebrating the new library,

The library is located  in the former Howard School at 232 Middle Road. The renovations were paid for from a variety of sources, including Community Preservation funding and Green Communities Fund.

The new library includes many features that were not available in the Russell Memorial Library, which recently closed.  The library includes a dedicated space for teens, quiet rooms that can be used for studying, and a children's room. The new library is also handicap accessible.

Library Director Dina Brasseur said she was pleased how the community came together to support the library project.
