Every dog deserves its day, and for adoptable pets on the SouthCoast, that day is Wet Nose Wednesday. I’ve teamed up with animal shelters in the area to give pets the spotlight to help them find a permanent home. Our goal is to get as many pets adopted as possible. We continue our mission this week with this good boy named Jackson.

This 40-pound lab/hound mix is a love bug. He has done very well with his leash training at CARE SouthCoast, Inc. in Acushnet, but he is very strong and will need a lot of good exercise. Jackson loves to run and play in the water and gets along well with other dogs. He would be one happy puppy to have a dog companion in his new home. He has done very well around cats,  but it’s always important to proceed with caution at first and monitor their first interaction.

Jackson can be a little rambunctious. He has a lot of energy, tends to bark at the traffic outside, and doesn’t do well with being bored. He will need a home that is prepared to implement good house manners and who is ready to play with him frequently.

CARE SouthCoast speaks very highly of their friend, Jackson, saying, “He has great potential and is very easily trained, but he is all boy and needs continued training to prevent bad behaviors from developing. He really wants to please and he loves people and attention."

Jackson is crate-trained, updated on all of his shots, and ready to go home to an animal-loving family.
