Acushnet Crash Sends Three to Area Hospitals With Significant Injuries
ACUSHNET — A single-vehicle crash in Acushnet Monday afternoon saw three people suffer significant injuries.
According to Acushnet Police, multiple 911 calls came in at approximately 2:38 p.m. on May 10 regarding a motor vehicle crash with injuries in the area of 84 Mendall Road.
Police say all three of the 22-year-old male occupants of the vehicle suffered significant injuries. One was transported via MedFlight helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital, which landed and took off again from the field at the rear of the Acushnet Elementary and Ford Middle Schools. Another was transported to Rhode Island Hospital via ambulance. The third occupant was taken by ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital.
As a result of the crash, Mendall Road was shut down for a time while emergency crews worked the scene.
Police say the cause of the crash is still under investigation and that no further information is being provided at this time.
