A New Bedford man arrested over the weekend is being held without bail overnight.

24-year-old Travis Mello was scheduled to be arraigned Monday afternoon in New Bedford District Court, on charges stemming from a drug bust at his home Saturday, where police seized 345 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine, and nearly $3,000 in cash.

Mello's arraignment has been rescheduled for Tuesday at noon.

Bristol County District Attorney spokesman Greg Miliote says Mello has hired his own private attorney instead of opting for a public defender. The attorney was not able to appear in court Monday in time for Mello's arraignment.

Mello is charged with trafficking cocaine in excess of 200 grams, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, subsuquent offense, and violation of the career criminal act.
