Two search warrants were executed in New Bedford Thursday night, resulting in the seizure of drugs and one arrest.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says that members of the Southeastern Massachusetts Gang Task Force executed the search warrants at roughly 7 p.m. following an investigation by New Bedford Police with the assistance of members from Dartmouth Police and the Massachusetts State Police.

The first warrant was executed at 379 Cedar St. apt. 2 south and the second warrant at 7 Beetle St. apt. 1.

The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Michael Oliver, was arrested upon arrival to his Cedar St. home.

Upon searching that location officers found a safe containing $17,991 in cash.

A search of the apartment on Beetle St. turned up 50 grams of cocaine and approximately 400 grams of heroin, with a street value of more than $50,000.

Oliver was scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning in New Bedford District Court on drug trafficking charges.
