As the years go on, the past gets farther and farther away. Certain years that feel like yesterday are now 10, 20 or even 30 years prior.

1. The Macarena

Thirty years ago, we were all learning the synchronized dance known as the Macarena. Oddly enough, it's back, as many kids are reviving the popular moves.

2. Nintendo 64

Who could forget the epic game console that brought us Mario, Donkey Kong and more with 64-bit three-dimensional graphics?

3. 1996 Olympics Games

Held in Atlanta, Georgia from July 19 to August 4, 1996, the Olympics hosted over 10,000 athletes and was the 100th anniversary of the modern Olympic Games.

Fans from around the world watched the highs and lows of the summer games.

Memorable moments included gold medal wins, Boyz II Men's powerful performance of the national anthem, and the horrific bombing that killed one and injured more than 100 people.

4. The Magnificent Seven

During those '96 Olympic Games, we were given the Magnificent Seven, the name given to the female gymnasts who captured the hearts of many, including me and my sisters.

Members Shannon Miller, Dominique Dawes, Dominique Moceanu, Amanda Borden, Jaycie Phelps and Amy Chow battled to become the best in the world.

However, it was their seventh member, Kerri Strug, that gave America this iconic moment, earning Olympic gold for Team USA:

5. Spice Girls

The girl group released Spice, their debut album, which sold more than 23 million copies. They quickly became a worldwide phenomenon.

6. Kobe Bryant Hits the Court

A young 18-year-old from Pennsylvania began what would become a 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers.

With their Super Bowl XXX win, the Dallas Cowboys became the first team in NFL history to win three Super Bowls over a four-season span.
