$3 Million Deficit Reported In New Bedford School Budget

New Bedford School officials report this year's school budget is $3 million in the red.  School Committee Vice-Chair Dr. Lawrence Finnerty says the discrepancy was discovered in November, and officials are now wrestling with how to close the gap.  Dr. Finnerty tells WBSM News, with just four months left in the fiscal year, making up the deficit won't be easy.....

Officials say 55 positions were inadvertantly left out of the budget.  Interim Superintendent Mike Shea says the deficit resulted in part from a lack of communication in the business office and other departments.
