FALL RIVER — There will be no high school football this fall for Bishop Connolly in Fall River.

The school has made the decision to discontinue plans to put a Connolly/Westport co-op team on the field for 2018.

Bishop Connolly Director of Athletics, John Feeny, told The Herald News that only a small number of students came out for this year's team. He added that last year's team was decimated by injuries and forced to forfeit the last several games of the 2017 season.

The report says that the future of the football program at the school is up in the air at this time.
