FREETOWN - Three people, including an 18-month-old child, are injured after a head-on car crash in Freetown Wednesday evening.

According to the Freetown Police Department, police and fire personnel were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Slab Bridge Road near Profile Rock in the Freetown State Forest at around 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Witnesses told police that two vehicles had collided head on.

When first responders arrived on scene, they located three individuals involved in the wreck. All three victims were transported to Rhode Island Hospital by Freetown Rescue. One of the victims was an 18-month-old baby.

The extent of the injuries is unknown at this time.

The accident is under investigation by Freetown Police.
