DARTMOUTH (WBSM) — Dartmouth Police took three people into custody Thursday after executing a search warrant and seizing over 100 grams of cocaine.

According to police, detectives executed the search warrant on May 2 at about 12:40 p.m. at a residence on Gibson Terrace.

Police said the search turned up approximately 55 grams of suspected crack cocaine and about 50 grams of suspected powder cocaine. Also seized was a digital scale and $1,255 in cash.

Nicholas Azeredo, 40, of Dartmouth was arrested in connection and charged with trafficking cocaine in excess of 100 grams and possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug (subsequent offense).

Dartmouth Police previously arrested Azeredo in August 2017 and charged him with possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug (fentanyl) and possession of a Class B drug (crack cocaine).

Azerdo was also arrested by New Bedford Police in September 2018 and charged with possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute, possession of Class A substance with intent to distribute (subsequent offense), possession of cocaine, possession of a Class C substance (pills) with intent to distribute, possession of a Class E substance (pills) with intent to distribute, possession of a Class E substance and resisting arrest.

Also arrested by Dartmouth Police at the scene on Thursday were New Bedford residents Edmund Melo, 30, and Joshua Bagao, 48, both on outstanding warrants.
